"As the last bits of her old life slowly slipped through her grasp, it seemed that the only thing she could hold onto was her love of birds. They somehow sensed this, flocking to her when it seemed that nobody else would draw near lest they be drawn under her curse. Even as their forms twisted under the dark power, the birds remained, giving her cold comfort in her most lonely of hours."

I don't think of stories in order, really. I think in scenes. This is just one that I felt compelled to sketch last night for whatever reason. The character has no name, the bird has no name, but perhaps in the future they will.

Um, I didn't really keep track of how long this took me, but I know I played through Daft Punk's Discovery at least twice, so that makes it around two hours. I made this using the Graffiti application on Facebook, which is basically just a pared-down Flash-based paint thinger. There's no zoom function though, and my eyes still hurt from all the fussy details. Either way, I guess this qualifies as an oekaki. Sorta.
