You were a good budgie.  I'm just sorry I couldn't save you.  No matter how short it is, no length of unraveled rope is safe in a bird's cage.  All it takes is a single thread, and I was too big of a moron to realize it.

Well, then again, I suppose it's not much of an update, but:




I'm still holding out a little hope that her owner can be found.  Budgies are cheap birds, but I can't help but hold onto the thought that she's missed somewhere.

Nonetheless, she's doing well.  She's active and she's vocal, so she doesn't seem to have any illnesses.  But as with all birds, that's rarely a reliable indicator.

We'll see what happens.

Update:  It's a girl!

Yarp.  My roommate called me upstairs earlier, saying there was a bird in the street.  Turned out that it was a very tiny budgie.

He's more awesome than your average budgie.




He's quarantined from my other birds currently, but I don't have the funds to get him tested for anything.  It's either scrape something together, or take him to a rescue, or hope that the found ad I'm posting shortly will turn up an owner.

If I can get the funds, we might have an office mascot.  Who knows?
